Well, this was supposed to be for my Film class, but due to camera issues (the film camera stopped working) and time constraints, I switched over to my digital camera… of course this meant I didn’t do the assignment, so I whipped this up from the bit of footage we had.
I think it’s fun, with more time we could’ve made it a lot tighter and the story wouldn’t have relied on the text, but meh — onward.
Gosh, at the beginning of summer 2011 I applied for the Sierra Club’s Best Internship on Earth. Didn’t get it, but I got a lot of positive feedback from the application vid I made for it:
This is a piece I wrote for an online magazine that seeks out perspectives on various life questions. This one asked about our ideas on death… click then link, then scroll down a bit to read what I wrote:
The website is run by a couple I met down in Oaxaca, Mexico. Really cool stuff, sending them my regards!
Worked on this clip for my summer job at the Vassar library… can’t honestly say my heart was in this one, but it was fun asking people questions about Vassar’s library.
Best school assignment ever! Made this with two close friends for a physics project. We filmed it over one night — the only all-nighter I pulled during high school. Soo worth it!
Tee hee, I just like the fact that I got my brothers to get dressed up for me to act in this video. I basically made it because my older brother had a shiny new camera and I wanted to use it, but I kinda think the film turned out to be really pretty.
The ending is based off a joke my uncle made at the dinner table, though the dialogue got cut. He was supposed to say “Is this Heaven?”
^_^
So I just ran into this clip I made as a senior in high-school. It was done as a showcase of the various “Primes” offered at Carver. I think they may even have used it for PR at some point:
The school itself is being torn down in a few years in favor of a shiny new one, so I like that this video preserves a little of Carver history in some way… the halls will be what I miss most.
I transfered to Carver mid-year during my sophomore year. I kind of think that decision started a chain of events that have shaped my entire life.
