For me, Waterlogged represents an entire period of my life. Creating it at age 15 really helped me develop as a filmmaker, giving me the opportunity to work with an extremely talented professional actor, my uncle, as well as go through the process of obtaining rights to music. But beyond that, for the first time, I started getting recognition and encouragement for my work. During my senior year, this film carried me through a number of competitions for aspiring artists, namely the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts' Young Arts program. This culminated in my being named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts for Cinema, one of twenty nationwide. This journey has inspired and motivated me ever since. So in some way, by bringing me to meet some amazing people and to have some life-changing experiences, this film has awaken me to the possibilities of film both on and off the screen. It's a serious film and one of my best, so turn off the lights and watch intently.
