READ AFTER WATCHING: On our way down to Savannah to visit my brother, Dad and I decided it would be really fun to make a movie over our spring break and so spent much of the drive writing a script. Early on we thought that we should make it home video style, that way we could spend break shooting the film both from the script and from life as a home movie. So about half of the film is scripted and the other half is just us being ourselves. No, it wasn't real, there is no Audrey and my Mom is one of the most caring people and would never be that cruel. But what I like about this film is that it feels real; it doesn't have any of those manipulative edits or Hollywood camera angles, rather it comes off as something more genuine, something that could actually happen in the real world. I haven’t encountered many fictional films that do that, so it may be a technique I explore in future films. But in the meantime, here's a snippet of life in the Levy family.
