Art

When I was 4 years old, my grandfather set me up with a canvas and paints, all the fixings for my own little art studio. Unfortunately, I never really liked making art when I was little, and despite Gramps’ early attempts at making me an artist, it was only after I transferred high schools to Carver, a magnet school for the arts, that I took a serious interest in painting and drawing. Now, sitting down and laboring over a composition night after night can be very gratifying for me. You learn a lot about yourself making art.

It’s hard to display artwork online. A lot of a work's presence depends on its size and texture, qualities that are lost in digital representations. I tried to compensate for this by arranging my gallery so that each painting, drawing, or sculpture is proportional to the other works around it. Hopefully this gives you a better sense of the real-world scale of each of these pieces. Take a look!
